King (Nagarjuna) belongs to the royal dynasty of Coimbatore. He has a doting mother (Geetha) and a loving brother (Deepak). He has three brother-in-laws who are after the blood of the king in order to get a share in their property. In this scenario, King gets killed when he visits Dehradoon for a project work.

Bottu Seenu (Nagarjuna) is a local mafia man in twin cities who does settlements. Gnaneswar (Srihari) is an innocent don of the city. Bottu Seenu falls in love with an aspiring singer Sravani (Trisha). But Sravani is of a soft type and she likes soft guys. Hence Bottu Seenu takes the avatar of a software engineer to impress her. The rest of the story is all about whether King is killed or not.

Trisha is with full of elegance and the credit should be given to costume designer and cinematographer. She hasn't exposed anything big but touched the senses of audiences.

VILLU -Out On Blu-Ray (www.bollywoodblu-ray.com)

Billu Barbar(Irfan Khan) is a poor barber who lives with his wife Bindiya (Lara Dutta) and their two children, Gunja (Mitali Mayakar) and Ronak (Pratik Dalvi) in the village of Budbuda. He also spends time with his close friends, Budbudiya (Rajpal Yadav)and Naubat Chacha (Asrani). Though struggling, Billu lives an uneventful life until Bollywood superstar Sahir Khan (Shahrukh Khan) comes to the village for a film shoot.

Billu has mentioned to his family that he knows Sahir from the past but has never elaborated how he knows the star. Thus his children spread rumors about their father's friendship with the famous star which spread throughout the village. Virtually overnight, Billu who had previously been scorned by most due to his impoverished state, becomes the center of attention. People who had spurned him only the week before now call him a close friend so that he will introduce them to Sahir. Billu refuses and downplays the friendship, saying that it is impossible for him to introduce people in the village to Sahir. The powerful businessman, Sahukaar Daamchand (Om Puri) demands to see Sahir and offers Billu expensive gifts in order to gain such a meeting. When Billu consistently fails to introduce the people of the village to Sahir, his situation changes once again. He is accused of lying about his friendship and everyone — including his wife and children, begin to doubt his character and integrity. Rather than defend himself, Billu remains quiet about the nature of their friendship.

On his last day in the village, Sahir speaks at a local school. He tells the children about his own impoverished childhood when he had nothing but a very special friendship with a young boy named Billu. It was Billu who took care of Sahir and who eventually helped him travel to Mumbai where he became a famous star. Billu, who is standing at the back of the event, leaves during the talk without revealing to Sahir that he is there. The townspeople, realizing their error however, take Sahir to Billu's house. Billu's children come home and apologize. Billu asks if the speech is over and they said no. Billu asked why they came early and they said that they did the wrong thing. Billu forgives them. Then, Sahir appears and Billu and Sahir get reunited. In the end, Sahir had to leave for another shooting but promised that he would come back for them

Kabir Khan’s ‘New York’ is about three friends impacted by the fallout of 9/11: it was not just the twin towers which were destroyed; a whole way of life died too. Americans began looking at people not of their nationality and religion with hatred and deep suspicion: if they are brown and worshipped Allah, they were terrorists.

Sam aka Samir (John), Omar (Mukesh), and Maya (Katrina) meet as students at New York State U. They hang out on campus, in pubs, but never seem to go to class: just shows that even New Gen directors are reluctant to show heroes getting an education.

In the best Bollywood tradition, this is a triangle: Omar loves Maya who loves Sam. They watch the planes crash into the towers in shock and horror—Omar goes his way, the other two get hitched.

Years later, the FBI in the shape of Roshan (Irrfan) surfaces in the threesome’s lives, with a shocking revelation: one of them is the kingpin of a sleeper terrorist organization, and the other has to turn into an FBI informer.

Khan’s subject feels a little old (there’s been a ton of 9/11 related stuff in the last eight years, including Naseerudin’s debut 2006 feature ‘Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota’ ), but it is still relevant.

What is Blu-Ray

Blu-ray, also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD), is the name of a next-generation optical disc format jointly developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), a group of the world's leading consumer electronics, personal computer and media manufacturers (including Apple, Dell, Hitachi, HP, JVC, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, TDK and Thomson). The format was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data. The format offers more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and can hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc. This extra capacity combined with the use of advanced video and audio codecs will offer consumers an unprecedented HD experience.

While current optical disc technologies such as DVD, DVD±R, DVD±RW, and DVD-RAM rely on a red laser to read and write data, the new format uses a blue-violet laser instead, hence the name Blu-ray.

JODHA AKBAR- Amazing sound quality on blu-ray

Jodhaa Akbar is a sixteenth century love story about a marriage of alliance that gave birth to true love between a great Mughal emperor, Akbar, and a Rajput princess, Jodhaa. Political success knew no bounds for Emperor Akbar (Hrithik Roshan). After having secured the Hindu Kush, he furthered his realm by conquest until his empire extended from Afghanistan to the Bay of Bengal, and from the Himalayas to the Godavari River . Through a shrewd blend of tolerance, generosity, and force, Akbar won the allegiance of the Rajputs, the most belligerent Hindus. But little did Akbar know that when he married Jodhaa (Aishwarya), a fiery Rajput princess, in order to further strengthen his relations with the Rajputs, he would in turn be embarking upon a new journey - the journey of true love.

The daughter of King Bharmal of Amer, Jodhaa resented being reduced to a mere political pawn in this marriage of alliance, and Akbar's biggest challenge now did not merely lie in winning battles, but in winning the love of Jodhaa - a love hidden deep below resentment and extreme prejudice. Jodhaa-Akbar is their untold love story.

Gandhi on Blu-ray released

GANDHI : BLU-ray disk: Amazing quality of video and audio to watch this masterpiece.

"Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this walked the earth in flesh and blood."—Albert Einstein, on Gandhi's passing

This film, based on true events which had a profound effect on the world, needs little introduction. Gandhi is an epic in every sense of the word from its passionate subject matter to its lengthy three hours running time. The Academy Awards in 1982 were taken over by Gandhi fever as the film picked up no less than 8 Oscars including the all-important Best Picture, Best Screenplay for John Briley, Best Director for Lord Richard Attenborough, and with Sir Ben Kingsley walking away with a Best Actor award.

This film follows Gandhi’s long and arduous journey from the moment he decided to fight against widespread oppression to his ill-fated demise which had such a huge impact all over the world. The man is mentally, emotionally, and physically abused yet he never strays from his belief that passive resistance is the only way forward. If nothing else this film contains many valuable quotes from the great man and the most important of all being the famous sentiment that an eye for an eye will only make the whole world blind.

While reacquainting myself with the film a worrying thought crossed my mind. I wonder if Gandhi’s story would be anywhere near as well known if not for the fact that this film was not only made but that it had such an overwhelming reaction. The notion that such an important event could be hidden away in history books further convinces me that the power of the ability to educate through the medium of film should never be overlooked.
